The Lagos Branch of Government CollegeUghelli Old Boys’ Association has elected Colonel David Jemine Binitie (rtd) asits Secretary effective Sunday 20^th September, 2009. The 1965entry year Old Boy, ex-Oleh House is remembered as the amiable BinitieII while in School. He was unanimously elected at the Branch Executive Councilmeeting and at the General meeting which followed to replace the Branch'sformer Secretary, Mr. Enita Okeme.

Colonel Binitie (rtd) joined the Nigerian Army in 1979 as a graduate Mechanical Engineer, an alumnus of the prestigeous , premier University of Ibadan. He retired from the Army in 2005. Colonel Binitie (rtd) is married and is blessed with three children, a girl and two boys. His present business pursuit is fish farming.

Ancient mariners and others present at the General meeting wished him well and counselled him to carry on as dilligently and as in the exemplary manner he conducted himself while serving the Branch as Secretary of the Ancient Mariner Sub-Committee of the Welfare Committee."
