– DR. JOHN OPEOLU JOHNSON RALLIES TO THE CALL!

Once among the pride of Houses in Government College Ughelli, Forcados House has fallen to hard times. Its structures and ambience have deteriorated so badly, the house is in a pitiful state.

 

In better times, Forcados House played a major role in the transformation of students who passed through its portals. The economic downturn in the country and the neglect of the school by agencies of state led to its present sorry state. The situation, however, will be reversed through the intervention of the Old Boys Association. The Association has taken on the task of restoring Government College Ughelli to the pristine state of its glorious years. The Lagos Branch of the OBA is leading the task of restoration. All Government College, Ughelli alumni agree the school laid the foundation for their present day achievements. It is time to give back to an institution that gave us so much.

One Old Boy, Dr. John Ope Johnson has rallied to the call and from his London base sent a cheque for N250,000.00 to the Lagos Branch of the OBA to help rehabilitate his Forcados House. This was in response to the Lagos Branch’s announcement of a N7,000,000.00 Appeal Fund for Forcados House, its Phase III Works in the alma mater.  Old Boys have responded with enthusiasm.
