"Keep The Ship Sailing"

Another highlight of the recently concluded Annual General Meeting of Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association was the donation of trophies for inter-house sports competions in Government College Ughelli by alumni of the school. Details of these awards are as follows:

(1) Trophy for Inter-House Athletics Competition, the Independence Cup donated by Dr. Taiwo Idemudia, Vice President, Lagos branch, GCUOBA to be awarded in 2008 after the Inter-House Athletics competition.

(2) The "Fastest School Boy" Trophy to be awarded to the house presenting the fastest boy in sprints donated by Dr. Philips E. Idahosa of the GCUOBA UK Branch, the 1966 Nigerian Fastest school boy; Cup to be awarded after the 2008 Athletics competition.

(3) The "Fastest School Boy Cup" to be awarded to the boy adjudged the best sprinter in the School. Trophy donated by Dr. Philips E. Idahosa. To be awarded at the 2008 Inter-house Athletics competition.

(4) The Albert Mukoro Egoh Cup for the fastest 1,500 meters runner donated by the GCUOBA United Kingdom branch in memory of its late Chairman and patron, Chief Albert Mukoro Egoh of the 1945 set; to be first awarded at the Inter-House Athletics Competition in 2008.
