NEC To Provide Leadership & Consolidate Gains - Chief (Engr) Joseph J. Akpieyi (President-General Worldwide)

In the recent past, Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association (GCUOBA) has expended a lot of time, efforts and huge financial resources to repair damaged, degraded and dilapidated infrastructure in our alma mater. GCUOBA is on course, proceeding with its quest to restore Government College Ughelli (GCU) to the good old glorious days and has recorded amazing successes. This is not surprising. Many high-net-worth old boys hold our alma mater in high esteem; and consistently demonstrate genuine commitment and favourable disposition to issues relating to the College.

President General Worldwide remarks at inaugural meeting

MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT-GENERAL WORLDWIDE

I will like to take the opportunity of this inaugural meeting to express my profound appreciation to all branches of our worldwide Association for the honour bestowed on me by my unanimous election as the President General Worldwide at the 2011 Annual General Meeting (AGM). The election truly represents a generational shift in the leadership of our Association from Ancient Mariners of the 40s to an Ancient Mariner from the 50s. I will also like to congratulate all old boys who were elected to the various positions in NEC. We promise to do our utmost to live up to the high expectations of members around the globe.

AGM - Reunion 2011

A re-union that won't be forgotten for years!

February 24th and 25th, 2011 will remain fresh in the minds of alumni, students and staff of Government College Ughelli for many years to come. The re-union culminating in the Old Boys Association’s Annual General Meeting was flagged off with the school’s inter-House Athletics competition. All present were mesmerized by the display put up by the boys, highlights of which were the march-pass by the students, the invitation relay races and the old boys handicap race which was won by the outgoing President General Worldwide, Mr. G.T.S Adokpaye. The overall winner of the inter-House Athletics competition was Ashaka House; Sapele House was first runners-up while Warri house was second runners-up.
